2010 KIDS FISHING CLASSIC
On May 6, 2010, over 300 students and teachers/aides spent the day fishing and having fun at the 14th Annual Kids Fishing Classic held at the White Oaks Sports Complex.
All of the students and teachers/aides were from local elementary, middle and high schools located within Calhoun & Cleburne Counties.
There were over 100 volunteers that assisted the kids by baiting hooks, casting lines in the water, reeling the lines in and taking fish off the hooks. Each student was assigned a 3-digit number that allowed the weigh-station volunteers to track the number of fish each student caught and the weight of each fish.
Prizes were awared in the following catagories:
1. Elemenetary school boy/girl with Largest Fish Caught
2. Elementary school boy/girl with Most Fish Caught
3. Middle-High school boy/girl with Largest Fish Caught
4. Middle-High school boy/girl with Most Fish Caught
5. Grand prize to the school with the most fish caught among all of the students.

Elementary School
There were 129 fish caught in total with Oxford Elementary catching 43 fish.
The Boy with Most Fish Caught - Oxford Elementary
The Girl with Most Fish Caught - Alexandria Elementary
The Boy with the Largest Fish Caught - Wellborn Elementary @ 2.82 lbs
The Girl with the Largest Fish Caught - Oxford Elementary @ 2.75 lbs
Middle/High School
There were 256 fish caught in total with Jacksonville High catching 67 fish.
The Boy with Most Fish Caught - Jacksonville High
The Girl with Most Fish Caught - Wellborn High
The Boy with Largest Fish Caught - Piedmont High
The Girl with Largest Fish Caught - Wellborn High
There was a total of 385 fish caught with 194.17 lbs by Middle/High school and 115.63 lbs by Elementary school for a grand total of 312.77 lbs caught all together.
2009 KIDS FISHING CLASSIC
On Thursday May 7th, over 200 Students, High School, Middle School and Elementary School levels, agencies came out to enjoy some fishing fun in the sun at Championship Park. Prizes were given out to an individual who caught the most fish, as well as the biggest fish, and a trophy was presented to the school with most fish caught.
